Little Britain to blame for bad behaviour in shcools
According to teachers surveyed by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, T.V shows like Big Brother and Little Britain are to blame for problem children in school. Apparently, they often use phrases like 'wah-eva', and 'am I bovad?', I could not stop laughing when reading this article.
One classroom teacher even said: "Little Britain caused a lot of answering back when it was on, and the content in any case was not appropriate for the year 7 to 9 pupils who I know watched it."
I agree, to an extent, the programme does encourage bad behaviour, but to blame parents for allowing them to watch programmes like that is not right!Only because the kids have behaviour problems, that does most certainly not make their parents BAD PARENTS!!
what do you think, who is to blame and to what extent?

Comment on Miss Demeanor's Mistresses
Hmmm that's a difficult one. Both of them initially agreed to the fact that they'd both have their extra-marital affairs, so not the husband I think. Once someone believes that they have genuine feelings for another, they desire for them feelings to be mutual. Of course any sane person would not get married with the agreement of being cheated on and cheating through the marriage, but at least the guys being honest...

Response to Kate's PDA - Public Display of Affection
I totally agree, i have personally witnessed this on so many occasions. The most vile was when a couple were actually having sex on a bus, the things is there was at least 15 other people there, but this couple didn't seem to be too fussed.
It was gross, eventually someone yelled that there was kids on the bus and that they stop, that still never stopped them. So the lady had to go complain to the driver and he had them kicked off!!!
I mean did they not feel embarrassment?why carry on??it was disgusting...!!!

Comment on Daryl's- Abortion
I personally think no one has the right to choose to end someone else's life; if young women do not want to be getting pregnant they should use CONTRACEPTION!!its so frustrating that once they become pregnant, its so easy for them to get an abortion...I think its totally immoral!!!
Having said this there are some women in difficult circumstance where one may feel the need that i can kind-of understand; women that suffer from domestic violence do not want to bring babies into a life like that, young women that have been, molested or raped etc
There are certain circumstances where it is understandable for abortions but there are women who, like you said, who prefer to have an abortion rather than use contraception!that is just WRONG!...

Reponse to Danielle's smoking
I completely agree; funnily enough i had a conversation with a few of my friends the other day, and all the guys agreed that if anything 'it was actually quite off putting' to see an attractive girl smoke. But like you said all the Hollywood movies seem to encourage a sexy stigma that comes with it.Its actually quite bizarre.
I'm also a smoker and hope to quit soon, but we really to stop NOW!!!or we know it, we WILL be the smokers with the pushchairs :P

Baby Rape...
A 43 year old, James Taylor was sentenced to only 5 years after police had found over 2,280 indecent images of children on his computer at home...The police were also able to recover 'horrific' scenes of Taylor raping a 13 months old baby, and incriminating images of a naked six-year old...Both children were said to have stayed at Taylors house from time to time.
The father of three was sentenced only to 5 years as the judge felt the physiological report suggested that he would not re-offend. I think it is sickening that a FATHER could even imagine doing something like that to innocent children; a 13 MONTH OLD???its disgusting, i would have expected him to get life.
The poor baby must have gone through hell and back, what a vulgar creature?? Child pornography, paedophilia...rape!!!and he gets off with a measly 5 years, which of half he would actually do, one would expect more for drink driving for crying out loud.
It makes me sick to the stomach that monsters like that actually exist, better yet, that actually get away with their sick actions!!!
The crown court are appealing against the sentence, i really hope he get what he deserves!!!

Prostitution
Thousands of women around the world are forced and driven into prostitution...However there are many that choose to do so...What would anyone get out of selling themselves for money on the street?
I just do not see the attraction; it would be different if they were living the high life (as would escorts) with large amounts of cash, but why for the street, trashy life??what is the appeal???...

Swine Flu Pandemic
The situation of the 'swine flu' could turn nasty if it not properly contained. Back in 1918 the Influenza pandemic began around the same time as we see the swine flu pandemic starting now (March to April). It didn't pose as a serious threat as cases were as minimal as we see today. It was only until around October in the same year that cases and fatalities rose sharply (due to the recirculation of contaminated air more common in the winter period when people are indoors for longer). And over the winter period the world saw one of the worst pandemics in recorded history.
The only problem is, that I think that we are falling into the same trap of this false sense of security that it doesn't look to bad at the moment. Hopefully the governments of the world will realise this sooner rather than later. I think that all of this media hype is quite necessary, and we should not just shunt the threat to the back of our minds and continue worrying about the current economic climate.

Response to Missy's 'body modification'
I disagree; i think people should be allowed to do as they please with their bodies. Tattoos and piercings are an individuals identity, its the way in which they express themselves, who gives anyone else the right to accept or reject them for it. Tattoos and piercings are like an art, a way to reveal feelings and emotions. Its like someone choosing or restricting our choice of clothes, it would be totally demeaning.
We are what we express ourselves to be, if that is the way in which someone wants to be seen, then good for them!!

Noisy sex arrest
48 year old Caroline appeared in court for ‘having noisy sex’; she has a four-year Asbo’s banning her from making excessive amount of noise anywhere in England. Since then, she has been convicted of breaching her Asbo in just 10 days…where the neighbours complained of shouting, groaning and her bed banging against the wall.
Cartwright was convicted of five breaches of a noise abatement on 17th April and fined £515!!! She was later arrested on three separate occasions within the same week for breaching again!!!
I could understand with a complain the once, but it seems the women did not even feel embarrassed that her sex life or ‘appetite’ had become so open…when I read this article I really could not stop laughing, the courts and police really have run out of crime to stop J
What do you think ; is at acceptable for people to be scrutinised for their ’loud’ sex life (no matter how disturbing…) or is it appropriate for the police to be spending time and ‘our’ tax money in arresting people for having ‘loud sex’…?

‘Sexed up’ education plan!
Primary school pupils must be taught of sex education and health living, as well as lessons becoming COMPULSORY in both primary and secondary schools.
Sir Alasdair Macdonald has examined and reported how personal, social and health education should be made compulsory and a part of Britain’s curriculum.
I am not too sure whether one would be so pleased if their 11 year olds were made to attend lessons where they were taught of sexual health issues.
Having said this, with children as young as 9 befalling pregnant…It is a scary world, children learn fast, and with peer pressure so high teenagers (or even younger) are more prone to try and learn of things earlier…
I am not too optimistic of this change/addition in Britain’s curriculum; I mean why should children who do not feel the need to want to know of sex education so young HAVE to learn simply because of those that feel the need to ‘try’ earlier than the norm.

Britains Economy downfall :(
They originally rented the £10-a-week lock-up to store their belongings in, before moving in themselves. Now the couple, Paula Lacey and Michael Ward have been given a few days' notice and have been told that they must find somewhere new to live.
Why should the average man have to suffer for the investments banks make?better yet why should they be receiving thousands of pounds in aid of their pensions when everybody else is made to suffer because of them?
I think its unfair that people with families have been made jobless, cannot receive benefits and cannot find new employment? Simply, how are they to survive?

Reporter sentenced to eight years...
An Iranian reporter, Reza Saberi was sentenced to eight years for being an 'American Spy'; the young girl is said to be in the fifth day of her huger strike, and her father is worried for her health.
America's president and the Saberi family have asserted that Reza was no spy but Tehran police are not hearing any of it. I cannot begin to imagine what the family must be going through, with their daughter jailed in an foreign country for something as big as being as a traitor...Iranian president, Mr Ahmadinejad also added that he was "sure that she is not being mistreated" in prison in Tehran, but is not intervening in her arrest.
Ms Saberi was tried and sentenced behind close doors last week by the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. She was jailed for eight years on charges of being an American spy.
Her father says her appeal against the sentence could be heard as early as next week...
My sympathies for the family...I think it is outrageous that the Iranian President refuses to intervene in this case.

Two charged over body parts death!
Dangerous Driving
There are so many people that are licenced to drive on British roads that simply cannot drive or drive too dangerously. I cannot understand why someone would put not only their but other road users (including pedestrians) life's at risk?? I mean, what it the fascination is risking your own, or indeed someone else's life for simply driving faster or more recklessly?? I have never got the addiction, or the buzz to as to what anyone would get out of it...
A recent case. a member of Parliament Lord Ahmed sent and received five text while he was driving in the dark hours at or above 70mph was astonishing. It just shows the hypocrisy; the very people that promote this 'legal, safe driving' sabotage the very idea of people obeying these rules themselves.
Although as Lord Ahmed's solicitor said, i do believe he is being used as a scapegoat, their trying to use him as an example, the right way to go about it??
Can anyone shed any light?

Talibanistic Marriage Laws?
A British news reporter recently visited Afghanistan to conduct an interview with Mohammed Asif Mohseni, who is said to be the behind the controversial Shia state law, a law critics say strips Afghan Shia women of many rights. He clarified some points under the Shia State Law;
- A woman isn't obliged to have sexual relations every single night or if she is told by her doctor to refrain. But otherwise it is her obligation and something she signed up for when she got married. He calls it the wife's duty.
- A wife wearing makeup "prevents a man from thinking about other women on the streets and he can just think of his wife."
- A woman is not required to ask the permission of a man to leave the house if she has a job and needs to go to work. But they do need to get permission if they are leaving for other reasons.
If she doesn't (put on make-up), will the husband go complain to the police that she didn't put (on) the lipstick? Or, 'I like red but she put on pink.
I think its crazy that these laws were even passed by the government...

Response to Laura's- Jade Goody's death
I do think it is vile that the media could do such a thing, especially seeing as it was done merely for popularity and money...But is that not what Jade Goody chose???
I completely understand the circumstance in which Jade chose to 'spend her last moments' in front of the media, for the sake of her boys. But does such scrutiny come alongside all that money, from my understanding for the amount in which Jade received it does...I found it disrespectful and ignorant...But I suppose that's the price fame and fortune come with.
Asbestos 'causing teacher deaths'
Health and Safety Executive figures shows an enormous 228 teachers died from an asbestos-related diseases between 1991 and 2005. The government asserts that schools and colleges know where asbestos is located and should immediately take responsibility to remove the substance from the buildings. I find it ridiculous that the schools are not taking their responsibility towards staff and teachers seriously enough. The hard- facts are presented to them, and yet they choose to ignore...
I could not imagine, working at a job as most teachers do, their whole lives, and ultimately be diagnosed with an industrial disease, its disgusting that it is being allowed. So many people/ teachers are dedicating their lives to helping young people achieve more in their lives, and yet by doing so their shortening their own. People are dying because of this substance, and yet it is being overlooked simply to save money??

Body Parts Man...
I was shocked watching the news to hear of the man who had been killed and dismembered; his body parts were found in different locations over Hertfordshire. I mean, what sort of animal would do such a thing. One thing is clear, whoever it was went to great extents to disclose the victims identity...Its so weird, but there is so much sick and deluded people out there its creepy. Should one fear to leave home, to go to the corner shop, to send the kids to school??Its really shocking when it hits home, and I believe it has now, with knife and gun crime staggering more than it ever has done. But the question is are all necessary precautions in place, to protect out society?
I watched the news for five minutes, and not surprisingly at least four different killing were reported; two in the west midland area...I wander what the future holds???

Bare-faced Lying!
Its strange how some people find the need to lie through everything; Its slightly more understandable when its a 'white lie', something that would not have affected anyone anyway, but there are people who lie even though they understand that the the person they are lying to knows the truth! they insist they are not lying, even through being found out.
I have been wandering what people like this get out of lying; it seems more of a addiction then anything else, they push their limits everytime they lie, its like an achievement that satisfies them.
When they do something 'wrong', they lie due to the fear of being punished, and if they are constantly doing 'wrong' this attitude results to them constantly lying. A lot of these people do not realise it or maybe would never admit it but suffer from sort sort of physiological disorder.
The sad thing is these people actually believe they are in control not only of their lies but their lives, it is anything but; their compulsive lying only results in them suffering from a sort of personality crisis whereby they have told so many lies they lose understanding of what is 'real'. Their life becomes a lie, they as people become fake, and without the help they need they eventually they end up very lonely...

Child Crusher!
Abuse, neglect and death seem to be very common words in today's society which we once again fail to prevent. Today, a 27 year old mother from London, was sentenced to eight years imprisonment after brutally torturing her two month old baby Rhys to death. Rhys suffered various injuries including 17 fractured ribs, a broken wrist and shoulder. However, i find it difficult to understand why organisations such as social services and health agencies who directly engage with targeted families failed to see the neglect and abuse Rhys had been suffering from. A worry for society is these organisations are directly engaging with families but yet still failing to see the need of support that these helpless young children require, especially since the death of baby P. The back drops are all to familiar, prevailing a history drug abuse, sex offending, alcoholism or some form of a mental illness. The questions is how many deaths will take place before health agencies and authorities are able to communicate effectively amongst one another in order to save lives?
"We have fully implemented the findings of the review, but we continue to keep a close eye on things to see if there is more we can do to improve,"
Reading the above comment made by Kim Bromley-Derry, executive director for children and young people at Newham Council it seems that previous cases of neglect have made very little difference to the way in which organisations serve society. Experienced health workers are unable to notice the signs of abuse at an early stage nor whilst the abuse is taking place. Is this what we call an improvement to services or do we continue to allow unfit parents abuse their children up until their last breath.

Supersize vs Superskinny
I saw a programme the other week on opposite radical health approaches, it showed a skinny female and an obese male. Both were on extreme diets leading to many health issues. I always assumed that people that were morbidly obese or extremely skinny chose to be that way, but having watched this programme I realised the in-depth issues that lie beneath these eating habits.
The connection between foods and emotion was not quite clear to me before this, its strange how unintentionally people acquire eating habits dependant on how they feel, or whats happening in their lives. Having said this, I suffered from an eating disorder at the age of 15, at 5 foot 5 i weighed 6 stones, which does not sound so bad i suppose, but I looked like a walking corpse. The ironic thing was even then I always thought I was fat!!!
I suppose for me the reason I had adapted such a diet was because...I was bullied at school about my appearance, I dreaded going into school everyday (shhhhhhh)...the fact that I was skinny protected me, they couldn't pick on me because of my weight, it was one less reason. As well as this, it was for me, I wanted to be so skinny that I couldn't go wrong, where on the off-day I could eat loads and still be skinny. Although I never felt skinny enough...
As well as this, waking up everyday to a magasine full of skinny celeb's cant help, women mostly must feel so pressured to compete with overly underweight celebs. Its exhausting...I should know!!

Father at 13
I was amazed to see the photo of 'Alfie Patten' the father at 13...I mean he looked like a baby himself! But what I was more amazed at was the public reaction; The sun paid a million pound to the boy and his family for exclusive coverage of him and the newborn, 'Maisy'. I didn't understand why the media are encouraging such behaviour in young people, Young boys and girls are watching this young dad turn into a little celebrity for something as immoral as teenage sex. A question that raised in my mind is are we promoting teenage sex or highlighting the consequences of it??
(The Sun) 'What a damning indictment on Britain’s hugely expensive sex education programme in schools', my point exactly. All these years focusing on teenage sex and drugs and this is what its led to?a teenage father that has barely hit puberty himself. And yet Britain’s youngest known father is Sean Stewart. He became a dad at 12 when the girl next door, 15-year-old Emma Webster, gave birth in Sharnbrook, Bedford, in 1998. They split six months later...
Now the question is where does the responsibility lie???

Smoking or non-smoking??
I know smoking's 'bad' for you but its something I simply enjoy doing. I just cannot quit; there are so many reasons for me to quit while I'm ahead (as they say) but i must admit the thought makes me cringe. I can honestly say i started smoking to 'fit in', actually I detested the smell, but the thought of seeming cool or even socialising fashionably was too tempting to resist. Before i knew it i was addicted (although I feel it too much of a harsh term to use).
The fact is that half of all smokers eventually die from cancer, or other smoking-related illnesses. And a quarter of smokers die in middle age, between 35 and 69.
I do hope that I soon gain the motivation to quit soon, i don't want to die early :(
