‘Sexed up’ education plan!

Primary school pupils must be taught of sex education and health living, as well as lessons becoming COMPULSORY in both primary and secondary schools.

Sir Alasdair Macdonald has examined and reported how personal, social and health education should be made compulsory and a part of Britain’s curriculum.

I am not too sure whether one would be so pleased if their 11 year olds were made to attend lessons where they were taught of sexual health issues.

Having said this, with children as young as 9 befalling pregnant…It is a scary world, children learn fast, and with peer pressure so high teenagers (or even younger) are more prone to try and learn of things earlier…

I am not too optimistic of this change/addition in Britain’s curriculum; I mean why should children who do not feel the need to want to know of sex education so young HAVE to learn simply because of those that feel the need to ‘try’ earlier than the norm.

  1. Hey im glad you have spoken about this. Although i do not like the whole 'norm' thing, i do believe the curriculum must change and at one point i was all for it being compulsary but now i do think that the option should be down to the parents, and if a child then feels they need to rebel against that decision, cross that when we get there. all individuals whether that be it as parents or not should have a say in the countrys curriculum, as alot of it is useless and some like this is neccesary for life. They so called norm of the age of pregnanacy is so low now that it is shocking, this is due to so many factors so why not put the education where it is needed. Where education progresses school, takes some pressure of the parent!!
